Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) provides professional email accounts for businesses and organizations. If you’ve received a Workspace email (like yourname@yourcompany.com), here’s exactly how to log in.
Visit https://mail.google.com and bookmark it for easy access later.
Type in your full Google Workspace email address (e.g., yourname@yourcompany.com) and click Next.
Type your password and click Next. If this is your first time logging in, use the temporary password provided by your admin.
If prompted, accept Google’s Terms of Service to continue.
For added security, Google may ask you to add a recovery phone number or email. This helps you recover your account later.
You’ll now see your Gmail inbox. From here, you can send and receive emails, use Google Chat, and access other Workspace tools.
Click “Forgot password?” and follow the steps to reset it.

Navigate to mail.google.com in your browser. Enter your full Workspace email address (yourname@yourcompany.com) and click Next. Enter your password and complete any 2-Step Verification prompts. You will land in your Gmail inbox.
If you are signed into multiple Google accounts, Gmail will show the inbox for whichever account is currently active. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner to switch between accounts.
On Android, your Workspace email syncs automatically once you add your account to the device. On iPhone or iPad, download the Gmail app from the App Store and sign in with your Workspace credentials. For detailed mobile setup instructions, see our mobile login guide.
Google Workspace email can be accessed through third-party email clients like Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, and Thunderbird. Google supports both IMAP and POP access, though IMAP is recommended because it keeps your email synchronized across all devices.
To configure a third-party client, you will need your Workspace email address, password, and the correct server settings. Google’s IMAP settings are: server imap.gmail.com, port 993, SSL enabled. SMTP settings are: server smtp.gmail.com, port 587, TLS enabled.
If your organization has disabled IMAP access in the Admin console, third-party email clients will not be able to connect. Contact your administrator to verify that IMAP is enabled for your account.
Google Workspace email uses the same Gmail interface as personal Gmail accounts, but there are important differences. Your Workspace email uses your company’s domain (yourname@yourcompany.com) instead of @gmail.com. Your organization’s administrator controls security policies, storage limits, and feature availability. Your email data is owned by your organization, not by you personally.
If you have both a personal Gmail and a Workspace email, keep them as separate accounts. Do not forward your Workspace email to your personal Gmail — this creates security and compliance issues.
If you cannot sign into your Workspace email, the most common causes are: wrong password, wrong account (personal Gmail instead of Workspace), 2-Step Verification issues, or account suspension by your admin.
