“It takes money to make money” in marketing means that your are spending money with the intention to get customers.
In most case, you are looking to gain more money from your customers in return from your money invested in marketing.
The challenge is that there are so many companies that offer “cheap” or free advertising that doesn’t work. Making the business owner feel insecure about spending more on advertising.
Cheaper doesn’t mean better. And if you get it free, your likely to get free time back.
Tv commercials for $100 per month probably wont work well. Neither would a $75 per month radio ad. And it is unfair to yourself as a business owner if you feel that the tv advertising doesn’t work because you invested so little in that channel.
Part of using your money to make money includes:
1. Doing the research on the type of advertising you’re interested in.
2. Learning a little about how it works and how to do it successfully.
3. Then hiring the right company to do the job.
When you do this, your price wont be $100 per month. However, if companies have found success doing the same thing, then chances are you can too.
You just gotta pay the price.
It takes money to make money.
